Dr. McNutt grew up in Massachusetts and Maryland. He played ice hockey throughout his childhood and graduated from Banff Community High School in Banff, Alberta while pursuing his hockey dreams.
After completing his undergraduate studies in Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University, he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating cum laude as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. McNutt then completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. McNutt remained at the Cole Eye Institute for two years after graduation, participating in resident training in and out of the operating room, and further honing his skills in routine and complex cataract surgery.
In opening Physicians Eye Clinic of Laredo in 2017, Dr. McNutt’s goal was to bring comprehensive and compassionate eye care with a focus on cataract surgery to Laredo. He wants the community to know that you do not need to leave town for top-notch eye care.
When not in the clinic or the operating room, Dr. McNutt enjoys spending time with his family, biking, running, and learning yoga.
Dr. Rochelle Mota, O.D. was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She attended Alexander High School for the Health and Science Magnet program and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Vision Science from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
She graduated with her degree in Optometry from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico where she rotated through multiple clinics around the island including specialties in Dry Eye Disease, Primary Care, Contact Lens, and Ocular Disease. She returned to her hometown of Laredo to continue her rotations with LASIK and Cataract surgery co-management.
In her spare time, she helps run the coffee shop, Dosis Coffee, that she co-owns with her husband. She enjoys creating new coffee specialty drinks, cooking meals for friends and family, and spending time with her dogs, Harley and Jeff.
